Spyderco Manix 2 Review

My Thoughts about Using this Knife

Perhaps you are like me who is so fond of outdoor adventures and that is why you came across this Spyderco Manix 2 review. I have to admit I was not too impressed when I first saw the Spyderco Manix 2. I just didn’t like the fact that it comes with really huge blades, bigger than the usual blades that I have seen on other utility knives around the market. But when I finally got to use the knife, I have realized that bigger is sometimes better.

High Performance

The weight of the Spyderco Manix 2 knife is around six to eight ounces, and that is three to four times bigger than the usual two-ounce knife. But this does not mean that you cannot carry the knife in your pocket. Of course you still can, although you can expect a bit of bulk.

Now, I have realized that there are actually benefits that come with bigger blades. One is an increased grip, because the bigger the blade, the better the reach will be and there will be more distribution of wear and tear, especially in terms of ease of deployment. Now, when it comes to the performance, the Spyderco Manix 2 will not fail you. It performs extremely well and on this Spyderco Manix 2 review, I can say that this knife is by far the best performing pocket knife I have ever owned.

Excellent Design

The design of the knife is something that I also love. The knife is made of cutting edge materials and has a truly excellent design. Spyderco has indeed managed to make the large blade to weigh as little as the smaller ones. I am pleased with the overall shape of the knife as well. It is very masculine, perfect for any male outdoor adventurist out there.

When I first got a hold of the knife and held it in my hands, I found it to be quite pleasing to hold. It is also worth mentioning on this review that the blade size is really perfect, despite the fact that I find it to be a bit bigger the first time I saw it. I must say that first impressions do not always paint a true picture.

Fit and Finish

The level of polish of the Spyderco Manix 2 knife is really impressive. It makes the knife to look clean and well polished. The ball bearing lock is superb which holds well the knife closed, but it is easy enough to operate in order to overcome and flick the knife open using one hand and without any wrist action.

This proves that the knife is actually built and assembled meticulously with extreme care. I also love the edges of the Spyderco Manix 2 knife. The jimping is also good, although the jimping of the regular Manix knife is way better. The thumbhole is nicely finished as well, and all in all, I must say on this Manix 2 review that the fit and finish of the knife are very good.
